HI Guys i'm mostly a beer guy and fairly new to the world of Whiskey.... a friend recommended Jameson to me and while i find it ok, i feel like the whiskey is weak as in i don't really get a kick from it....is this just me? or is the Jameson a weak-ish whiskey? If so, what would you recommend as a stronger whiskey type? I'm new to whiskey so i can't tell you what notes etc are...sorry for being a noob and thanks....

HI Matt,
Thanks for the update....will go check out some bourbons...see if i like how they taste
Jameson is a decent intro whiskey, but definitely used mostly for shots at the bar, unless you start getting into some of their higher end expressions. I would say try and seek out some American bourbons and even some scotch’s to see what you like, a good intro to bourbon would be something along the lines of Buffalo trace, four roses, michters and something for scotch I would recommend balvenie, Lagavulin or macallan to start. Also some good Irish whiskeys I like are from green spot and bushmill. See what flavor profiles you enjoy and you can start to explore the range if you find a distillery you enjoy. It’s all about experiencing each, and finding what you like, there is no right or wrong. It’s about what you enjoy, not so much what someone else enjoys. Hope that helps, and don’t hesitate to reach out as you explore more! Cheers Matt
