I'm on track to retire in 20 years. I'm looking for a whiskey to buy now that will be my retirement drink when the time comes. Preferably a whiskey that will be its best in 20 I guess. I'm not a scotch drinker but I enjoy rye.

Great. Thanks for input. I'm on my way to the store.
I think your at a point now that whiskey has gotten so expensive that I would probably say wait it out, this whiskey bubble will burst at some point over 20 years and you will be able to buy whiskey a lot cheaper than it is today.
With that said, if you are hell bent on tracking something down and you absolutely love Rye, I would say go ahead and track down a bottle of Van Winkle Family Reserve Rye Aged 13 Years. It'll most likely cost you a pretty penny these days considering you'll most likely have to buy it on the secondary market but if there is any rye worthy of cracking when you finally retire, that's a mighty good one.
Cheers
Matt
